NAViGO CIC is awarded the title of Social Enterprise of the Year 2014

Social Enterprise Yorkshire and Humber have awarded NAViGO CIC the title of Social Enterprise of the Year at this year’s annual award ceremony.

The annual awards are to celebrate the region’s most dynamic and innovative social enterprises, with organisations recognised for achievements within four categories: Start up of the Year, Social Impact, Social Entrepreneur of the Year and Social Enterprise of the Year. This year’s winners are described as being “the best of enterprise” for proving their commitment to a social mission to aid local communities. The winners were announced at the glamorous SEYH Gala Dinner on Thursday 9th October at Shay Stadium in Halifax.

NAViGO Health and Social Care CIC, a not-for-profit social enterprise that provides a whole mental health service to North East Lincolnshire, has been recognised by this achievement for being a community spirited organisation that provides exceptional services. NAViGO is unique for having a voting membership of both staff and people who use services, all with equal voting rights and have previously won 6 national awards for care and the organisations involvement of staff, service users and carers.

Kevin Bond had this to say about the achievement: “It is thrilling for NAViGO CIC to be able to say it is Social Enterprise of the Year. We pride ourselves on our dedication to our community and credit goes to staff who have the people who use our services as their priority and every day strive to make a difference.”

October 9th was a day of celebrations not only for this incredible achievement of becoming Social Enterprise of the Year, but also by our Community Team been awarded the Medipex Mental Health and Well-being Innovation Award for their WHISE programme.

Social Enterprise Yorkshire and Humber is a not for private profit company that aims to promote and connect social enterprises across the region. It works towards developing a regional network of social enterprises as well as achieving a long term goal to mainstream social enterprise within society whilst raising public and institutional understanding.
